Admission Requirements

General Admission Requirements

At Geedystar College of Nursing Sciences, Osogbo, we welcome applicants who demonstrate academic ability, commitment to healthcare, and the values of compassion and integrity. Admission is based on the following requirements:

Basic Nursing and Midwifery Programme:

• O’Level Credits: Minimum of five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, obtained in not more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB).

• Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 16 years old by the year of admission.

• Entrance Examination: Candidates must sit for the college’s entrance examination and interview.

• Programme Duration: Typically three years for Basic Nursing or Midwifery.

ND/HND Nursing Programme:

• O’Level Credits: Same five science subjects as above.

• UTME Requirement: Minimum JAMB score of 170–180, depending on the year’s cut‑off.

• Programme Duration: Four years (ND + HND).

Post‑Basic Nursing Programme:

• O’Level Credits: Five credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

• Professional Requirement: Must be a Registered Midwife (RM) with a valid licence from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

• Programme Duration: 18 months.

Post‑Basic Midwifery Programme:

• O’Level Credits: Same five science subjects.

• Professional Requirement: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMCN licence.

• Programme Duration: 18 months.

Documents Required for Application:

• O’Level result(s)

• JAMB result slip (for ND/HND applicants)

• National Identification Number (NIN)

• Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age

• Certificate of State of Origin

• Active email address

• Passport photograph

• Application acknowledgement slip and payment receipt

Important Notes:

• Maximum sittings: Two sittings only are accepted for O’Level results.

• Application fee: Payable only through the official college portal.

• Warning: No third‑party agents are authorised; applicants must apply directly via the college portal to avoid scams.
